Great Size for Mobility. Snappy Performance.
I purchased this tablet to use while traveling. The 10.1 inch size I have for home browsing and games is just a bit too large to comfortably take along in my bag. And it is wi-fi only. This one is connected wherever there is a 4G network! I had zero problems getting it activated at AT&T, which was also a plus.
For my traveling needs, the Samsung Galaxy 4 8" tablet is pretty perfect. Not only is it a good size for on-the-go, but it also effortlessly handles the tasks I most often need it for. Battery life is great. Although 16GB of internal storage is not really enough, you can expand it with up to a 64GB micro-SD card. It comes loaded with apps that you may or may not find useful. Those are just there for the life of the device. If you detest "bloatware," then this tablet may not be for you. However, I personally have found a good many of the pre-loaded apps to be very useful.
Being able to rely on 4G networks when not within range of wi-fi is invaluable. It isn't a phone, no, but I knew that when I bought it.
The release date for this device is April 2014, so it's getting a little long in the tooth, specs-wise. In my experience with Samsung, that really isn't a negative. I had a Galaxy Note 8" tablet (2013) that I absolutely dogged to death. It lasted for over three years of hard use - and was actually better built than the 2016 Samsung Tab A 10.1" with S Pen that replaced it.
If I have a single quibble about this particular model, it is that the touch screen isn't quite a sensitive as my other tablets or my cell phone, and there is no setting to adjust sensitivity. That takes a little getting used to, but now that I'm acquainted with it, I don't really notice the difference.
All in all, a good buy and a great product!
