The Nike Air Max 90 first debuted in 1990 as a part of Nike's Air Max series. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, this sneaker has a distinctive design and technological innovations. The New Maroon colorway debuted in May 2020.

The upper of the Air Max 90 features a combination of materials, including leather, mesh, and synthetic overlays. These panels contribute to the shoe's unique aesthetic and structural support. The New Maroon colorway is part of the Air Max 90 Recraft edition, celebrating 30 years of the iconic shoe. This design recreates the original with less toebox padding and a reduced mudguard. The white midsole of the shoe features a splash of Maroon outlining the visible Air unit, and Nike Air branding appears on the heel and tongue. Black stripes line the sides of the white base while Maroon touches also appear on the inside tongue lining.
