Mego Corporation was one of the first companies to make action figures. The company once held the licensing rights to DC and Marvel superheroes. They also made figures of characters from TV shows, movies, and other realms of pop culture.

Mego action figures of superheroes, movie characters, and TV characters are available in an 8-inch scale. Some of the teenaged or younger characters, such as Robin and the Teen Titans, are shorter than your average adult figure in this line. Some figures also come in a larger, 12-inch scale. These action figures have numerous points of articulation and real, soft-goods type clothing and costumes. Mego Pocket Heroes, small, simple representations of superheroes in a 4-inch scale, are also available. There are also toy vehicles and playsets to accompany the action dolls.

There are Mego superhero figures based on both Marvel and DC comics. This line was called "World's Greatest Super Heroes." For DC, characters such as Superman, Batman, Robin, and Wonder Woman are available. For Marvel, there are characters such as Iron Man, Spider-Man, Thing, and The Hulk. There are also a number of villains, such as Joker, Penguin, the Lizard, and the Green Goblin. Characters from science fiction films and TV, such as Planet of the Apes and Star Trek, are also available. In addition, there are characters from Tarzan, The Wizard of Oz, The Dukes of Hazard, and more. There's also a series of Mego monster figures, offering Dracula, the Wolfman, and Frankenstein's Monster.

A Batmobile was made for Batman and Robin. The Dynamic Duo also got a Batcopter, Batcycle, and a Batcave playset. Spider-Man had a Spider-Car, while the Joker received his own wheels too. A toy car was made for Captain America, and another was crafted for the Green Arrow.

For the most part, Mego action figures are the same even if they come in different packaging. There are some variations of the same characters, though. Most of the original Mego dolls were made in a second version that featured a punching action. Batman and Robin were rereleased in variants that had removable masks.

The 8-inch and 12-inch action figures have 14 points of articulation. Their heads can turn left and right. The arms can be posed at the shoulders, elbows, and wrists. The waists are also articulated. Finally, the legs can be posed at the hips, knees, and ankles. The Pocket Heroes line features five points of articulation. They can be moved at the head, arms, and legs.
