• Sit in the vehicle. Make sure that all of the doors of the car are closed and locked.
• Put the vehicle key in the ignition. Pull it back out. Repeat this cycle until you have completed it six times. Programming a replacement key fob requires that you do this in 10 seconds or less. The vehicles lights will flash when you have done it successfully.
• Put the key back in the ignition. Turn it to the Accessories position, which is marked "ACC."
• Press any button on the replacement key fob. When the keyless entry unit is programmed, the hazard lights of the vehicle will flash.
• Turn off the car.
• Get out of the vehicle. Lock the doors, and try the key fob remote to ensure that the programming was successful.

For a remote to work with your Versa car, the vehicle must be equipped with a keyless entry system. If your car did not come from the dealership with this feature, an upgrade to the body control module can provide access to it. After that, programming a keyless entry remote will make it compatible with your vehicle.
