    Exactly what I was hoping for--but has its limitations

    I'm very pleased with this tablet: it's extremely responsive, and I have yet to wait for anything. Text entry flows beautifully, making me more comfortable using this device for e-mail, etc. Delightfully, Dell has avoided filling these units with bloatware, so that I can just use the Android features and apps I really want rather than having a sluggish and unwanted "experience" foisted on me by the manufacturer, as I have seen on some other units. It's also lightweight, with plenty of memory, a good camera, and a good layout. So far it's been terrific with battery life, and unlike my old tablet, keeps almost all of its battery life when asleep. All of this is exactly what I need. However, I don't play games with this, or use it as my primary way of accessing the Internet, or really do anything heavy-duty on it at all. It runs Android 4.4.2, KitKat, and is not upgradable to Android 5, Lollipop, although its pricier sibling, the 7840 CAN run Lollipop (many sources on the Web don't realize the difference between the two, and I wish Dell had distinguished their names by more than model number). If you don't want to be stuck back in Android 4, this isn't the tablet for you. If, like me, you just want to do things like tasks, browsing the Web, watching videos, calendar, e-mail, social media, etc., you may love this tablet. Amazon also has a case I like very much for it by Fintie that sells for just $7.

    Great Tablet

    I have owned both Nexus 7" tablets, two iPad minis, HP Touchpad, and Dell Venue 7 (windows). I would say the Venue 8 is very comparable. I have always preferred high end Android tablets mainly because of affordability. Dell makes a durable slim oem case for the V8. I couldn't find an offbrand snap on case. My only complaint is the screen seems overly sensitive. Scrolling on websites or social media apps can become slightly frustrating when a scroll registers as a click. This happens often enough that user error isn't the cause. I don't recall this issue on my iPhone/iPad/Nexus 7. I still highly recommend this tablet. High end quality and design with fully capable software. No issues watching videos online and the system is snappy. I prefer the Android model to Windows because the latter isn't user friendly out of the box.

    Great product for Excellent price

    I've previously owned the Dell Venue 8 before but when mine broke I researched and tried out the Dell Venue Pro and other similar tablets. The Dell Venue 8 32GB is a great simple tablet that does what your computer does in an easier setting. I like being able to access everything I need on a mobile tablet instead of carrying around a laptop. There are a few draw backs because you are limited on certain things and the screen isn't all that big (big enough for me) for certain videos or transactions but all in all I love this tablet. It's well worth having in my book. This particular Dell was purchased in brand new condition. Love it!

    Fantastic screen

    Battery life is not as good as other android tablets i have used in the past, but it will certainly handle all tasks needed of a tablet with energy to spare. The screen however more than makes up for that. fantastically bright and clear. Be aware I also find a few apps are not compatible with the version of android this device is running. being an intel based android device. however for browsing reading and the few other things tablets are good for this is an excellent buy.

    This tablet is unparalleled compared to previous devices I've owned. It combines the mobile swiftness and universal user interface with hardware from a time tested company to produce a sleek and seamless experience. Not to mention the speaker on this thing is massive and it comes standard with software that maximizes audio performance. It's loud! and it fits into a full size keyboard folio which makes writing very portable. Very rad.

    The Last of It's Kind

    Really one of the best Android tablets out there. I love my Asus Nexus 7 but I wanted to try out a slightly larger screen. It's worked out great. Super super slim. The screen is amazing. Great colors. Not weighted down with a lot of bloat ware. Running on Android 5.1 with no updates upcoming. But no one is making this size tablet anymore.

    It's a great tablet for the price!

    Yes, the Android version is outdated (Marshmallow) but is still a great tablet for the price! If you are looking a budget tablet for students this is a great option! Just buy a case with keyboard ($10-$15) and you are set! This tablet support OTG, so you can connect a USB mouse and keyboard if you want to!

    very good device.

    This device is underrated because a lot of preinstalled bloatware which is too much for 1 Gb RAM. But it could be easily fixed by the simple removing and disabling all of these programms through settings.

    Tablet powerhouse in thin package
