How to Choose the Correct Golf Club

Many a time, golfers decide to find new golf clubs without giving thought to the various aspects that will either help or hurt their golfing. Instead, they settle on clubs that may thrill their golfing friends but do nothing to improve their game. It's worth mentioning that before you set out on that venture, do your homework. There are several ways that your new clubs will have you shoot lower scores and improve your game-it's a thin line.

What Are the Differentiating Features of Cobra Golf Clubs for Women?

A lot has changed in the recent years, there are more ladies playing golf than ever before. With more ladies taking up the game, manufacturers like Cobra have stepped up their game by designing golf clubs for female golfers, for instance, King line of clubs.

Shaft Length: Since women are shorter than men on average, the shaft length of all women's clubs are reduced at least by an inch. For example, if a standard 5-iron is 37.75 inches long, the female variant stays at 36.75 inches.

  • Shaft Flex: Women golfers tend to have slower swing speeds in golf, pretty much the same way serve speeds are lower in ladies’ tennis. To offset this, the shafts of women's golf clubs have higher amounts of flex. They do this by replacing steel and other metals with the more flexible graphite.
  • Club Weight: To make it easier for female golfers to wield their clubs, they are lighter than regular golf clubs. In the case of irons, the club heads are heavier, but the overall weight of the club is still on the lower side, with shorter and softer shafts to ensure maximum control on shots. The Cobra Women's Irons, with their lightweight graphite shafts, comes to mind.
  • Grips: Shorter and thinner grips are the logical choice here because women tend to have smaller hands than men. The grips on ladies’ clubs are also very easily distinguishable thanks to the softer, pastel colors used.
  • Loft Angle: Higher lofts on a club will ensure that shots will climb higher into the air. Women's drivers and woods have higher loft angles to help lady golfers get the ball high into the air from the tee or the fairway.
